Here is the FIRST official pair of little boy shorts that I hope to market! I'm really excited about these and LOVE the fabric with the old airplanes! I've got a few more "boy" prints to make these shorts from, and I'm still tweaking the pattern a little, so there will def. be more pictures to come!!

New Dress Alert!!!

Here is the newest dress that I've made! Isn't it cute? I think I like it ALMOST as good as the Pansy one!!!

I think that it turned out GREAT and the red floral print on the vintage fabric really looks great with the wider cream colored satin ribbon!

This is the first dress that I will offer as a "make it when you buy it" dress. Fabric is limited, but I should be able to make about 3 of these in whatever size you'd like!

Just check them out on Ebay! (Click on the Ebay button at the top right of my blog!)

Thanks for looking!!!

Putting Dresses on ETSY today!

I am in the process of placing 15 dresses on Etsy today. I've got 2 there so far, and with the boys running around like little crazy people, it's a slow process!!! I've also got to take 2 dress orders to the post office, pick up more mailing supplies, and go to a "Christmas" dinner tonight for the Fire Department. (The Restaurant we were supposed to have the dinner at back in December caught fire and just re-opened recently).

Soooo.....we'll see how many actually get there today! Please keep checking back! There will be some really good deals there!

Please "Follow Me"!!!

Hey everyone!!! On the Right-Hand side of this blog, at the top, you will see a "Follow Me" section. PLEASE FOLLOW ME!!! If you do, then you'll get e-mail alerts when I update my blog with the new designs or any info. about what I'm up to! I appreciate it!!! Thanks sooooo much!

Launching on TUESDAY!!!

Ok! I didn't get the time to "Launch" everything on Sunday like I wanted to, but hopefully by Tuesday, I'll have it all up and running!

I will now be posting the things that I'm working on and new designs/patterns on here BEFORE posting them for sale!

I will be posting the NEW items on Ebay as either "Buy it Now", or as 7-day auctions with a "Buy it now" option for those of you who need instant gratification!

I will be leaving "holiday themed" items on Ebay until the Holiday has come and gone. The items that do not sell on Ebay will then be listed on Etsy at a slightly reduced rate.

Most of my dresses are pre-made and are "one of a kinds" in their size. My newer designs will be offered on a "Make it as you buy it" basis. That way, if you need more than one dress in a certain size, I'll be able to accomodate you! I will post a listing of my "regular" sizes for you to have something to go by, but I will most definately make a dress for you based upon your length need! Just ask!

My Ebay items will be listed at http://myworld.ebay.com/mlparlier

My Etsy Store is at http://www.etsy.com/shop/thefuzzychicken

I have also created a Facebook Fan Page!!! I will be posting my newest items there for you to see (before I post them to sell!). There will be more info. here at the blog, but the Fan Page will allow me to reach everyone faster and with quicker and shorter posts! Find me there and become a fan at: http://www.facebook.com/pages/edit/?id=382303506376#!/pages/Elk-Park-NC/The-Fuzzy-Chicken/382303506376 At least, I HOPE that is where you can find the Fan Page at! I may need to re-post that address after I make the page public!

So much to do!!

Thanks everyone for your support!!!

Launching My Blog & Facebook Fanpage!

I have been working hard to get everything together to LAUNCH "The Fuzzy Chicken" tomorrow (on Sunday!). However, I am going to be out of town with a group of girlfriends for the day! Today has been an action-packed one! I got up when Mark left for work this morning (he is an Engineer for the Town of Boone Fire Department). I got quite a bit done before the boys woke up. Once they got up, we ate breakfast, got our clothes on, and out the door they went to play in the yard! YAY!! It's the FIRST DAY OF SPRING!!!! Not 45 minutes later, back in they came claiming to be tired and cold and hungry. This MUST be a boy thing. However......I get tired, cold, & hungry pretty easily too.....so maybe it's genetic!

They watched "Chuggington" (their new FAVORITE cartoon) and ate a snack, and then we all went back outside to enjoy the rest of the morning and to take this picture! The sun was hitting just right through the trees and the breeze was gently blowing the dresses around. These are a few of the dresses that I have made and still have on hand! I have already sold 14, so I'm really excited about all of this!

Just to let you know..........I pre-wash the fabric before making the dresses, and then I heat treat and attach the ribbon ties so that they won't come out or fray.

I sew the dresses using French Seams so that the frayed edges won't show. Once the dress is made, I wash it again to make sure that there are no problems with the stitching or ribbons.

I have had WONDERFUL feedback so far from my dresses and would love ANY and ALL feedback in the future! I just want to keep making my ideas BETTER!!

I will be posting my newest dresses/designs on Ebay first and then will move the remaining items (at a reduced price) to Etsy. Please click on my Ebay & Etsy buttons on the upper right side to view the items for sale at each site.

I have really enjoyed making these so far! Hopefully I'll be making many more to come!!

Keep checking back! I will be posting my newest designs and also will be blogging about my experiences making little boys shorts!!!

Not Happy with the Appearance of this Blog...

Hmmmmmmm........................There are sooo many CUTE free blog backgrounds out there, but all of the ones I like say "for personal use only". At this point in the game, I don't want to spend the fundage to get this blog all decked out in the cute fashion that I would like for it to be. It may be that for now, it'll be a little blah..... I don't like blah! It's soooooooooo.........Blah!

I think I've said before that I will be working on the Logo and now I'll also be working on the color scheme for this little bloggy of mine!

Hang in there with me everyone! It'll look GREAT soon!!! :o)

The Fuzzy Chicken........????Why???

Ok.....so I have named my project finally and it will be called "The Fuzzy Chicken". Now...why this name? Well...........I started out as "Patchwork Blessings" because that showed off the sewing aspect of this endeavor and it also held a theme of "A patchwork of this and that to Bless you with". HOWEVER, I couldn't get used to it and wanted something a little more fun, so I got to brainstorming. I was having a hard time until one day while talking to my little guy (Mackie), he said something cute and I fluffed his curly hair and I called him one of the nick-names that I have for him (and sometimes his brother) ~ Fuzzy Chicken (it's all about the hair!) Suddenly bells went off in my head and it clicked and I LIKED IT!!! It sounded FUN and BRIGHT and Kid-friendly!!! Big-Kid-Friendly too!

So.......................I may play around with the actual Logo from time to time, but from here on out, we will be known as "The Fuzzy Chicken"!

(You will find that I LOVE to write and tell stories.....and I LOVE to use punctuation incorrectly!!!!!!!!!!!!!) :o)

My Little "Project"

Hey there, everyone! To those of you who know me, you know that I've constantly got 10,000 ideas and "Projects" going in my head and home. Many of those projects only find themselves half-way done. My husband can attest to that. However, I have spent the last month+ working on THIS current project of mine. I ran across a picture of the cutest Pillowcase Dress one day a few months back and thought "I could DO that!!" As luck would have it, I already had quite a bit of fabric on hand that I needed to do something with, so it seemed to all fall into place! I created my first dress, adjusted my pattern a little bit, and off I went!
This whole thing got started around a GOOD Holiday ~ St. Patricks Day!

I sold 9 of these and COULD have sold more, but wasn't able to get anymore of the fabric. (I'll know for NEXT year!)
After that, Mark (my husband) found a pretty & bright fabric pattern that he said would be really good and "Spring-y" looking. He just knew that people would like them! And they have!
I've sewn pre-made dresses out of MOST of the fabric that I had on hand.....mainly because they were odd lengths and I wanted to have something to show people. I've been blessed so far and hope that this turns into something that I can continue and keep adding to as time goes on!
I am a Stay-at-home mother to my 2 little boys and LOVE them to pieces! (On some days, I'm the one that is loved to Pieces!!!) This project does, however, give me some time to myself (on occasion) and also allows me to contribute financially to our household. I hope that as you follow this blog and see all of the ideas that I come up with, that you will be inspired to want to own a piece of my creativity, or in the least, be inspired to create your own bit of "pretty"!
Thanks for looking and keep checking back!
