Army Theme Birthday Party!

My little boy turned 7 this past week. He wanted an Army Themed birthday party, so we found a few good ideas to make everything nice for his day.  For the food, we had "Pigs in a Blanket", Pimento Cheese Sandwiches, Grapes, Sliced Apples, Caramel Dip, Broccoli, Carotts, Ranch Dip, Cheese Nips, Chips & Dip, Gummy Bears, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Ice Cream, & Cake!
I found some Camouflage tablecloths at Walmart for only $.97 each!  They weren't quite as long as the tables, but no one seemed to mind.

I took some of Creston's Army Men and hung them from strings over the main food table.  These turned out really cute!
I made Creston's chocolate cake and decorated it with a "dirt" road and some of his army toys he already had.   I wound up with an "Army Green" color for the cupcakes.

We finished decorating with some Green Baloons and a big Tank Baloon from The Party Corner.

For the games, we started out with "Guess how many Army Men are in the Jar" ~ the prize?  All of the Army Men in the jar!  Our next game was an airplane contest where the kids made their own planes, and then "raced" them outside to see who could get theirs to fly the farthest.  Our third game was "Hot Grenade" (played with a Potato).  Our last fun thing was a Tank Pinata from The Party Corner!

The candy got a little stuck inside, so we had to "help" get it all out.
It was a great party and we had great weather so the kids were able to go outside and play quite a bit.  I think they had the most fun just running around chasing each other with their play guns.

2012! New Year! Better Blog!

Hello all of my GREAT fans of "The Fuzzy Chicken"! This last year was a busy one, and in turn, I didn't do much posting to this blog, but I decided that this year, I will blog more, and do Facebook just a little bit less! I'm going to link these posts to my Fuzzy Chicken Facebook account, so when I do post here, it'll show up there too!

I hope that each and every one of you had a WONDERFUL Holiday Season! We are finishing up taking down the Christmas decorations today. Yesterday was our oldest little guy's 7th birthday! We also had snow the last few days, so yesterday and today were both Snow Days for him! He and his little brother just came in from sledding! We're supposed to get a few more flurries tonight, so we'll see what tomorrow morning holds!

As I mentioned, I am hoping to blog more here......post all of my new dress and design pictures here first, and also turn this into a crafty idea blog as well. I LOVE crafting just about anything, and I come across so many really great ideas that I'd love to share with all of you.

So..........big plans here....just keep checking back to see what we are up to here at "The Fuzzy Chicken"!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

New Dress Alert!!!

Here are 2 new dresses! Last Sunday evening I posted 2 dresses that have since become 1 of a kind (since I couldn't find any more of that fabric with which to create replicas!). I'm thinking about just making these "Sunday Auction Specials" one of a kinds. A lot of people like the fact that their child is wearing something that no one else has, so we'll see how this works!
Here is the most vibrantly colored Summer Dress! It's 20" long and would be adorable on your little 2 year old or on your older little girl as a really cute top over shorts! I LOVE the citrus colors on this and think of warm weather when I look at it! Thank the Lord for Summer weather!

Here is one of the cutest and colorful floral patterns I've seen in a while! There are so many colors going on in this one, that you could pair this dress/top with any number of little shorts! It is 15" long and would make the PERFECT top for your 4-6 year old! So girly and whimsical!

BOTH of these dresses are listed on Ebay in 7-day Auctions! Hop on over to http://myworld.ebay.com/mlparlier to check them out and to see all of the other dresses and shorts that are listed!!!

REALLY Excited! Clothing Labels!!!

Mark "Googled" about clothing labels and found these sheets of printable cloth for our ink jet printer! He once again designed these for me, then we cut one off, and washed it...dried it.....ironed it.....sewed it into something....washed it again....and........................it still looked really good and like we hadn't done anything at all to it! I'm hoping that they hold up to repeated washings like they are supposed to! Next item on my list is to order some clothing labels to sew on the OUTSIDE of my clothes!

Project for the boys!

While in Pigeon Forge this last time, I MADE Mark take me by Wal-Mart....I had called ahead and was told that they DID still have a fabric department.....YIPPEE!!! While looking through the fabric, Creston spotted some Army print fabric and decided that I HAD to make him some Army Pants for him to play in. He actually held the bolt and hugged it to himself! I HAD to get him some and some for Mackie to have a pair too. Oh boy!

I'll post a picture when they are done! I think I'll add LOTS of pockets! Boys LIKE pockets!

New Dress Alert!!!

I'm on a 4th of July Dress Making ROLL!!! I had a ton of left over fabric from when my firt son was born....I had thought that I would decorate his room in fire trucks and "patriotic" colors/fabric, but the walls were green, so NOTHING matched with red, white, & blue! Away the fabric went and I'm glad NOW that the fabric didn't work out 5 years ago!!!

I LOVE this dress! It's simple design lets the BEAUTIFUL fabric shine!!!
This will be posted tomorrow on Facebook and EBay.
